If you are interested in one of my little ones and you cannot or don't want to travel
to see them, start off by sending me an email at info@topchihuahua.com.
It is at this stage where you can ask
me the 50 million questions that are floating around in your head, which is completely
normal! Also, it will give me a chance to gain some insight into your position as
a potential owner, such as: who you are, how many people are in your home, if children
are present and if so, how old they are, if you have any other animals, etc. I am
also interested in knowing what you are looking for, what you expect from the pup
once it enters into adulthood and why you desire such a dog (breeding purposes or
for companionship, etc.). This initial contact will allow us to develop a certain
degree of trust. You can gain my trust by learning of my experiences and my integrity
and I can gain yours by learning of your intentions and of your ability to take
care of such a small dog. Don't forget, this is one of my babies we are talking
about! I want to be sure of its safety!
The live webcam is a great way for you to really see the puppy you've fallen in love
with and to see a bit of his/her character through his/her interactions with the
other Chihuahua's and myself. You also have the possibility of seeing the pups parents,
which really gives the best idea of what will come of your little Chihuahua once
it reaches adulthood. I say "possibility" because some of the dogs that I breed
live elsewhere. This is the case for Annie, Microbe, Malika (who is being temporarily
boarded - semi-permanently - at my best friends home), as well as Titite. With regard
to the females, if the adoption takes place post-weaning (generally around 8 weeks),
it becomes a bit more complicated to see the mother on "live".
Boarding allows me to give to all the dogs that stay with me (or those who are breeding,
in labour or nursing) plenty of the love and care that they need, while assuring
me that those who are placed in other peoples homes (not with families) live in
equally excellent conditions. I do not want a kennel. I want family dogs that appreciate
the value of human affection. This makes my females to be even better mothers and
their puppies to be accustomed to human interaction and much more likable.
Next comes the big decision and the big leap! From the moment that you choose a
puppy and confirm with me your intention to adopt him/her, you have 48 hours to
get a deposit of $200 delivered to me or, depending on the case, a complete payment.
You can put the deposit/payment through Paypal (3.5% taxes are applied in this situation),
by certified cheque or by money order. Personal cheques will not
be accepted.
Please note that payments for the puppies must be received before their departure
from the nursery. I will therefore advise you at least one week before they are
done weaning in order to give you enough time to get me the final payment.
When the puppy is ready to go (between 8 and 10 weeks), you can either come and
pick it up, or I can make alternative arrangements.
With regard to shipping to the other provinces, AirCanada Cargo offers an excellent
service for transporting dogs. The shipping prices vary from one place to the other,
but you can expect to spend between $100 to $250 dollars. Since I reserve the pups
place a few days in advance of their departure, I am only able to give you the details
of the pups arrival to you within a fairly short time period. I strongly suggest
that you contact AirCanada Cargo a few days before the expected arrival date of
the puppy to find out where to pick up your new little one. Generally, animals and
passengers do not come off the plane into the same building. All the puppies come
with a "starter kit" which includes a sample of their food (Royal Canin formula
for small breed puppies), as well as documentation in either French or English (your
choice).
Please know that I do not consider my work to be finished after the departure of
my little Chihuahuas to your home. Conversely, it would do me a great
honour to answer any of your questions or concerns.
I hope that all of the time invested combined with my experience,
contributes positively to the online purchasing of your puppy (which in some cases
can be a rather disheartening experience) in the most extraordinary and magical
way possible.
